Philip Barnett

Philip Barnett graduated Summa Cum Laude from Trinity University in 1972 with a degree in Accounting, after which he served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army in Seoul, Korea.  There, he was responsible for all cash control for the 8th Army in South Korea. In 1974, Mr. Barnett began a career in Public Accounting with the firm Arthur Young in San Antonio, Texas.

In 1979, Mr. Barnett accepted a position as V.P. and General Manager with Williams Insulation Company. Under his leadership, the company expanded its operations to 12 cities across Texas, Colorado, Kansas and Nevada. In 1998, Mr. Barnett was instrumental in orchestrating a merger of the three largest Insulation Contractors in the United States in a leveraged buyout totaling over $350,000,000. He served as a Senior Executive in the merged entity, BSI Holdings. In two and a half years BSI grew from $280,000,000 in sales to over $750,000,000 when it was acquired in 2001 by MASCO Corporation, a Fortune 500 building supply and services company.

Since 2001, Mr. Barnett has operated ALC Investments, a diversified investment holding company.

Michael Sedlak

Michael Sedlak began his real estate career when he joined ALC Partners in April, 2008. He previously worked for AT&T Corporate Development in San Antonio, TX. There, Michael executed buyside and sellside M&A transactions, venture capital investments, and late-stage preferred equity financings totaling over $400 million. In addition to his focus on asset valuation and financial analysis, he was responsible for all aspects of due diligence including tax, accounting, legal, HR, and operations. He also participated in the negotiations, deal structuring, and documentation for corporate development transactions presented to the Board of Directors. Prior to his employment at AT&T, Michael was an engineer for National Instruments in Austin, TX. His global experiences at National Instruments included applications engineering, business development, and sales and product management.  Michael is a licensed Real Estate Broker in the State of Texas.

Education: Michael received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University (2000) and his Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin (2006).

When Michael is not spending time with his wife Allison and daughter Caroline, he enjoys golfing, hunting, and supporting the Aggies.

Clayton Barnett

Clayton began his real estate career in the summer of 2006 by accepting a job with local Austin developer Buffington Capital Holdings. Buffington Capital Holdings is one of the top master planned community developers in Central Texas. His duties there ranged from updating pro formas, managing engineers and construction managers, locating future development tracts, and raising equity. He also spent time working alongside the president in negotiating loan contracts and managing personnel. ALC Partners is still an active investment partner in a BCH project. Clayton is a licensed Real Estate Broker in the State of Texas.

Education: Clayton graduated with a degree in Finance from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. His studies also included a full time internship with Koontz McCombs Development in San Antonio during the summer of 2005 where he was first introduced to development land acquisitions, loan packages and development pro formas.

Clayton likes to spend his spare time hunting in South Texas, fishing at the coast, and spending time with his wife Tara and daughter Sadie.
